Post Tourney Shoutouts
From TaXi:
We’ve finally done it guys!! Soul Singapore Invitational was a success, and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. A big thank you to our Soul SG members for contributing selflessly in every way possible, as well to our new friends who took time off their busy schedules to attend Soul SG’s inaugural public event. Let’s look forward to even greater things in the coming year!
And finally, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Soul SG!
From Aheda:
That was EXPLOSIVE, Soul Singapore Invitational ’08 was more successful than I could have possibly imagined.
I’m personally embaressed over a LOT of the mistakes that I made throughout the entire process… I had overestimated the size of the room, underestimated the complexity of setting up all the equipment, as well as the difficulty of running the tournament. At first I thought I made some really horrible mistakes, but all the happy faces and positive feedback have been really encouraging.. and we are SO going to do this again. We’ve learnt from our mistakes and we’re already preparing contingencies for others. Look out for the Soul Singapore Invitational in 2009.
Right now I’m trying to get a hold of all the juicy stuff worth posting up. Where are my pictures? Where are my videos? They are out there and they are awesome! Stay tuned as we dedicate to bringing these little tidbits up online.. so you can sit back, relax, enjoy AND regret not turning up! (Haha! Just kidding.) We hope you will come down to our next event and add to the excitement!
A special thanks goes out to our friend from GameAxis “MrToffee”, who not only came to join us, but posted up pictures and a report the moment he got back! Thanks a lot for everything dude! We hope to see you again soon.
You can view his post as well as pictures on the GameAxis blog at this link.

Many thanks to New Era for the support; the posters provided by you guys truly added a special touch to our event!
Currently busy clearing up the mess in my room as an aftermath of the tournament. (TaX dumped everything on me… boohoohoo)
Will be releasing a better report and videos post-christmas.

Great work guys!
Being a first timer with the community and well, any fighting game tourney, I was in fact pretty surprised that people of the soul calibur community of Singapore were so friendly!
You guys really did a commendable job with this event, and I fully enjoyed my time there.
Thank you all so much for taking the effort and spending your time (and consoles) to organize such an event! I’ll be looking forward to the next big event!
P.S I’m the REALLY BAD mina player. lol

Yeah, if anybody wants to learn the game. Just feel free to post up on the respective sites and we probably can direct you to a player that can help you out.

I also want to encourage people to come to our console sessions if they can. It’s always easier to teach in person. We’ll usually post on one of the forums if one is planned. Just get in contact with the person who is hosting.

Sit and go tournaments are pretty much the only poker I play since its online. Playing poker in the casino isn’t for me anyway. I like being able to watch it on T.V while I play online, especially when Chan is playing! Nothin beats double or nothing sit and go
